Tiny adventures in Spain: Today’s tiny adventure was being propelled through the wine village by the smell of chocolate in the air only to find a chocolate factory, hooray!
I spent a fabulous five days in Xeraco with my new American pals. We had so much fun that they invited me back just two weeks later to spend an even longer trip with them to see the Fallas in Valencia and to celebrate Easter together as a family away from home. Hooray! That sounded so lovely to me!
In the meantime, I was back in the wine village now, and every so often I was getting some serious whiffs of a delicious chocolate scent in the air. To the point where I would almost feel summoned to stand on my very tippy toes like in a bugs bunny cartoon and follow the waft of it in the air to determine the sweet destination of its origin. And guess what I did? Just that! I followed the smell to find that Sant Sadurni had its very own Chocolate Factory which had sent most of its chocolate production outside of the village, but on certain days they would still cook up some yummy goodness at the headquarters in wine country. My little wine village would fill up with the smell of chocolate in the air, and when it did, I would dart for the nearest convenience store to buy a bar of chocolate to satisfy the cravings that were conjured up.
You can bet your chocolate loving ass; I would eventually find myself at the source for a real sample of what I had been smelling in the air. That day wouldn’t be today, but it would be a splendid day indeed when it arrived soon.
